Peter Owen Jones is a writer and broadcaster of considerable insight and his other works are excellent. "Psalm" however, is a dreadful, meaningless little book I bought, after being seduced by the introduction on the cover. The poetry, which is Psalms of David, does not lend its self to successful paraphrasing or reinterpretation, for this "modern age". It can be dumbed down and mediocritised and if this was Fr Peter's intention then he truly has succeeded, but it is beneath his talents.
