Discovering Maeve Binchy! (0/0 people found this helpful)

This was the first Maeve Binchy book I had read and wow - have I been missing out! Couldnt put this one down and have now purchased several or her other titles so that I can work my way through them all. The characters have also re-emerged in the current book im on which keeps a fantastic continuity. Cant wait to read the rest!
Keep up the good work.

I decided to read this book to get me back into reading. I had previously struggled with Hilary Clinton's autobiography and a book by Will Self both of which were hard to read but I enjoyed them. Initially I enjoyed this book and was reminded how I had enjoyed Light a Penny candle and Night Class in the past. Unfortunately after a while, the book became predictable and shallow, I knew exactly what was going to happen and felt it lacked any substance. I would recommend this book if you don't need to think at all but if you want a little more, steer clear.
