Nigel Slater Recipes book (0/0 people found this helpful)

Interesting suggestions but the appearance of the book with no pictures doesn't do justice to Nigels skills or his TV programmes. The TV programmes are entertaining, brilliant, VERY easy recipes from nothing almost and practicable.

Wonderful - I use it all the time! (0/0 people found this helpful)

This book is the one I turn to when I get home from work and want to make a quick supper. It really is full of easy, tasty recipes which you can put together in just a few minutes. What I love about it is that most of the recipes use ingredients that I tend to have at home anyway. They are all simple and most importantly they work.

No other word, brilliant (0/0 people found this helpful)

A good, practical everyday book, which gives ideas but also lets you use your own imagination. Easy to substitute ingredients if you dont like any of Nigels. My copy hasn`t left my kitchen counter and looks as if it will stay there. Not fiddly and fussy as are some of the books I have bought over the years.

As good as I had hoped (0/0 people found this helpful)

Ordered this book after watching a few of his tv shows and was not disappointed. Easy and simple ideas without having to search for obscure ingredients etc.
Only snag is I need to buy another now as my daughter liked it so much it went back home with her!

Excellent resource for neophytes like me :) (0/0 people found this helpful)

Most of the recipes are simple and straightforward and usually can be prepared within 30 minutes.. maybe 40 minutes for some that need more preparation of ingredients.

Some ingredients are a bit esoteric - but I have got enough confidence now to chuck something else in - or nothing - when that happens. On the other hand I am putting together a good stock of things - herbs, sauces etc - that are now always to hand, as a result of the recipes I have tried so far, plus there is a list in the book of good things to have to hand.

I was more a 'ready meal' man until now - but now I am starting to experiment with the recipes.. and, after one turned out to be absolutely superb from a taste point of view, I will try at least one new recipes each week and probably more, depending on how rigorous I am in shopping for ingredients - but I have started to store more meat in the freezer, which makes it easier for some of the meat-based dishes.

I can highly recommend the book.
