I love this book - from the enticing cover through to the very last page it is full of wonderful recipes. But that is only half of the story Ms Jacobs takes a simple title - and delivers so much more than a cookery book - every page is filled to bursting with inspired detail. Early on in the book we are told of the - 'Ingredients from a Greek kellari' - this sets the scene and is enough to make your mouth water -
Moving on to the the recipes themselves Ms Jacobs provides very clear step by step instructions - my advice is to follow them - they work !! The photographs are a sheer delight and enhance rather than detract from the text.
You are left in no doubt that this book has not just been written by someone with a passion for good wholesome food - this author has a passion for people - for social history for health and for life in it's whole glory.
This book would make a wonderful gift..
