Reader Reviews:Different but very good (1/1 people found this helpful)Something has changed - the editor?
The worst Nick Stone novel yet. (6/10 people found this helpful)After reading all the other reviews I was extremely dissapointed to discover "Recoil" is in fact the worst (by miles) McNab book to date.
Blood and guts (1/3 people found this helpful)The only McNab I had read before this was his first biographical book which I enjoyed as the story of a very brave if not an attractive man. Stone, Mcnab's hero has his unattractive side too but beneath the tough soldier's exterior it seems there is a soft heart too. I think what you get with McNab is very much a reflection of the author himself. You sense he has used all these weapons.he is an expert in the field not in mere theory. he is not though an expert in personal relationships, except for soldier to soldier.
McNab delivers again (1/3 people found this helpful)Once again with Recoil McNab doesn't disappoint. I thought McNab books were just for blokes until my boyfriend got me to read one and now i'm hooked. Can't wait for the next one, although i saw on his website andymcnab.co.uk he is launching short audio stories to download on mobile phones. Another good one! (3/3 people found this helpful)Well McNab has done it again and produced another fast-pased action story. Yes he does follow a familiar plot but I don't think that's a bad thing - it's the reason why I like his books! Since I have read all his previous Nick Stone stories I am kinda as interested in how his life pans out as well as the action that goes on. So in that respect I found the ending quite sad...
