This was an awesome book. The Mbangas did a wonderful job in making a lot of research make sense and flow in the story . It is a great love story but it also shows the other side of the story in South Africa. I would recommend any one reading it! I am defilitely adding it to my library.

This book has everything. (0/0 people found this helpful)

Not just a love story, but a story of two people, who's marriage affects the politics, policies and governments of nations. It tells, in well documented style, the generational changes brought forth through the union of two very different people. A successful gritty history lesson, that will intrigue anyone who is interested in life on this planet. A 'must read'. Seretse & Ruth shows in interesting rhetoric the accomplishments of two people from completely different backgrounds, using a common thread can make positive changes in the world they live and breathe in. Again, a 'must read'.

This book is a wonderfully written, true story of the lives of two people, in love, that shook nations, politics and policies of not only the African world, but a very British one as well.

Seretse and Ruth: Botswana's Love Story is well written, well documented and a 'must read', by anyone interested in the intrigue of life on this planet. A real history lesson, with a heart. The book takes you through their entire lives, with the triumphs, heartbreaks, successes and failures, the births of their children and everything in between.. More than a love story, it is a life story, graphically documented. Excellent read.
