This is an excellent resource, beautifully typeset and illustrated. Many of Ross Duffin's postulations matching ballad tunes to Shakespeare lyrics work well: "Robin Goodfellow" for "You spotted snakes", to take one example. Others less so,it has to be said. There is also a useful pronunciation guide for Elizabethan English.
Be warned, however, there are no accompaniments at all, not even for the pieces for which written out accompaniments survive. There is a CD in the back which is very helpful and many of the song accompaniments could be transcribed from here if necessary.
In all other respects the book is remarkable and very reasonably priced A must for all interested in the music of Shakespeare's plays.
