As an American who has been married to a Sicilian for twenty years, nineteen of them spent living in Italy, I have learned to recognize easy, authentic recipes at a glance. This book has many diverse offerings, all of them authentic Sicilian cooking, with the difference that they are written with American standards of accuracy in mind. Down to the quarter teaspoonful!
"Sicilian Home Cooking" is more than just a wonderful cookbook, it is a joy to read. Anecdotes abound, making the author and her family come alive, and tempting the reader to make a visit to Gangivecchio. (A worthwhile visit - I have been, many years ago, and it is a wonderful place!)
To cooks and armchair tourists alike, I heartily recommend this book!
