Reader Reviews:dissapointed would not of bought this if found in shops (1/2 people found this helpful)Okay perhaps being British and buying an American scone book was not a good idea, but first impressions of this wee book are not good. I bought this hoping to find some new scone recipes, yes lots of new as well as traditional scones. But never have I seen traditionl scones made like these! The book presentation is basic and I found the recipes to be to obscure What is all-purpose flour? eggs in scones hmmm! and no standared weights or measurments where given its all 2 cups of this half a cup of that. Sorry but really like to have my pounds and ounces. My general summing up if I had flicked through this one in the shops would definetly not of bought it, But for now off to try and work out how many ounces I get in a cup :0). So good I bought 2 more copies as gifts (0/0 people found this helpful)We found this treasure in our public library and decided to purchase it. It is so good that I am buying 2 more copies to give as gifts. A must have if you like Scones! Great recipes for young children (0/0 people found this helpful)I have a 9 month old son who would eat only bread type things! I make scones with fruit in them, with veggies in them, etc. and he loves them! I was so happy to find this book! I really have enjoyed the book. The recipes are GREAT! (0/0 people found this helpful)One of the things I liked about the book was that there is a recipe for "Clotted Cream" which I haven't found in any of the other recipe books I have read. There is quite a variety of recipes for spreads in addition to scones for every occasion and taste! The book is well worth having in your collection! Best little book ever! (0/0 people found this helpful)If you love your English fare, this is the book for you. Sit down with a cup of tea and any of the wonderful scones you can make from this book, and feel a smile of contentment cross your face. Try the savoury scones for a potluck brunch, walnut scones for high tea, or chocolate chip scones for dessert. The beauty of this book is that it combines the traditional recipes with delectable varations to make any palette happy. What a bargain for the price!
