Love or Hate (0/0 people found this helpful)

To be honest this will be a book you'll either love or hate. Karen, although often compared to the likes of Kathy Reich's, has a unique voice with her writing and really should be seen by more as a talent up there to rival what many would call the "premieres" of modern crime writing. Cleverly written the readers will definitely not see the twist coming at the end of this tale and a number of them may well want to know why the author does as she did within the tale (hey I'm not going to ruin it for you.) Suffice to say this will be a turning point for Karen's writing although I wouldn't like to be which way it will go as a number complain that too much time is spent on one character rather than the plot as whole. I would disagree with that point of view as personally, I love the involvement and as such makes this a crime book to really enjoy.

What a brilliant book!! (0/0 people found this helpful)

Didn't want it to end, and can't wait for the next one. Have read all Karin's books and this one was definitely a page-turner. Definitely not for the squeamish. I couldn't sleep one night and read at least half in one sitting, which is very unusual for me. The ending was a complete surprise and can't recommend this read highly enough. I know some people didn't like it but everyone's different. Another book I'm sure most of you read is The Fates by Tino Georgiou, but if you did miss it, pick up a copy.

Possibly her best yet (3/4 people found this helpful)

When I first finished this book, I was more in agreement with some of the other reviewers who've expressed their dismay at Ms Slaughter's choice in plot direction right at the end. However, upon reflection I've had to admit that as a story this one is really really tight. Yes there's a lot of plot threads to follow and yes quite a lot of them are unpleasant but as a follower of the entire Grant County series, this story really does do justice to the main characters we've grown to know & love(slash hate!). I don't recommend this book to anyone new to Karin Slaughter - you guys should really start from the beginning. And for those of you who, like me, were angered by the ending please go to karinslaughter. com /letter and read her comments on this. It makes a lot of sense!

Slaughter has lost her way... (0/7 people found this helpful)

Always on the hunt for exciting thrillers, i was in heaven when I found Karin Slaughter as her books were exciting, surprising and satisfyingly gory at times. Unfortunately, she lost me as a fan with her latest effort. The story is obvious and boring, the love affair between Jeffery & Sarah is indulgent and the ending was as annoying as it was unnecessary. Gutted.

Grant County R.I.P (2/9 people found this helpful)

I have read and enjoyed all Karin's books, but this I just could not get through. It was truly dreary and full of waffle. I have hated Lena throughout, yet she gets more space than anyone, all the time.

I gave up half way. Dreadful.
