Reader Reviews:A fascinating and insightful read. (3/3 people found this helpful)This is a really rewarding read for anyone interested in Islam, Muslims, the modern Middle East and the perennial search for truth! It's also a rare and unusual life-story, free of any posturing or religious self-righteousness, full of lucid observations about modern life through the eyes of western educated Muslim. Humorous if not hilarious in parts, especially where he recounts his early culture-clash encounters as a student in mid-fifties Britain, Son of Karbala is rich with stories that give you insights into Muslim culture and belief that humanizes Muslims.
