A good idea for teachers as well... (3/3 people found this helpful)

In my opinion, this is a very nice book if you like story-telling. As a teacher of English as a foreign language, I've tried it in my classes and it worked! Kids like it very much! The only downside is that it's a bit small, specially the eggs that Spot and Helen find; besides, it borrows a few ideas from 'Where's Spot?' Once again, he tries to find the eggs under ths stairs, in the clock, etc. However, this time the egg hunt also takes place... outdoors!
Anyway, it's the best Easter book for children I've found so far; it's far more appealing than 'Peter Rabbit's Easter', but this is just a personal opinion...

SPOT's First EASTER (15/15 people found this helpful)

lift-the-flap book, from Eric Hill.

This review is for the PUFFIN paperback, lift-the-flap version/1991.

22 thick, shiny pages in the popular 2-page spread format.
Large, bold, easy-to-follow text on one page and a picture and a lift-the flap opportunity on the other.
9 sturdy flaps ensure successful lifting/replacing, time and time again.
Colourfully illustrated throughout.

In this story, Spot is very excited because it is his first Easter, and the Easter bunny has hidden some eggs for him to find!
Spot scampers off with his friend,Helen, and a couple of baskets, to find them!

Delightful book, further enhanced by the occasional `helpful' comment from the characters hidden behind the flaps and the appearance of the Easter Bunny who regularly checks on their progress and reminds the duo how many more eggs they need to find!

From the back cover:-

'SPOT is one of the essential experiences of childhood' - Parent Magazine.'

One of the best series of books for early readers!

An Easter Egg Hunt for Spot and Helen! (28/28 people found this helpful)

This is a well illustrated little board book , just right for little hands. The story shows Spot and his friend Helen, trying to find the Easter eggs that the Easter bunny has hidden for them in and around Spot's home. You can count the eggs along with Spot and lift the various flaps to try to uncover those hidden eggs. Bright and Cheerful! My 2year old son loved it,especially as we then had our own Easter egg hunt and he knew exactly what to do.
