Absolutely brilliant! (1/1 people found this helpful)

I have always been interested in tornadoes and severe weather and when I stumbled on this book and read the other reviews, I decided it was worth a look. What I discovered was a book that I wasn't able to put down and actually read it in one go. It is great for people who aren't really interested in the scientific side of tornadoes - and for those that are. It is worth buying the book just for the pictures which are stunning. I would whole heartedly recommend this book to anyone and I can't wait to get over to the States to see a tornado in real life.

I thought I was really there! (1/1 people found this helpful)

This was such a great book. The information that Warren Faidley gives in the book is incredible. It would make one think that they actually were a storm chaser. The pictures of lightning and tornadoes were superior. I have never seen such great photography.

The book is well written and very interperative! (0/0 people found this helpful)

With an astonishing personality and life, Warren Faidley has written a book that is not only detailed with beautiful photographs but gives the reader a knowledge of good technique and safety that a storm chaser must consider while on the road.

The photos were the most beautiful I've ever seen! (1/1 people found this helpful)

Warren Faidley's book was eloquently written, very descriptive, and even humorous at times. His photography talent was apparent and inspired me to take up photography myself. I wish I could say that I'm the next Warren Faidley, but I'm not quite that good! At the end of the chase descriptions, he includes a storm chase glossary and some photography advice to help you take better pictures. Overall it was very interesting and a good read.

A GREAT BOOK (1/1 people found this helpful)

I read this book back in 96 when it came out. I absolutely loved the book. I loved the color photos and the stories he shares. Oh and did anybody even mention the lightning strike? The one near the tank farm. He gives excellent detail on how he got the closest lighting shot ever recorded on film. From the spider bite to the wall climbing to get to the spot he took the picture. I recommend this book to anybody who is fasinated with severe weather and all of it's inner beauty. But also don't forget the beautiful calm pictures of nature also, i.e, rainbows, sunsets, and plain old clouds. They all have their place in the atmosphere.
