Reader Reviews:Not good for beginners (0/0 people found this helpful)DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER. I am a complete beginner and I found these dances hard and complicated. The teachers assume you have some knowledge of dancing and the speed is way to fast for novices. I have no idea what a grapevine is (apart from somewhere grapes grow.) I tried and failed to keep up with or even understand most of the moves. The easiest one was the Jive, but as that progressed it got harder to keep up. I wouldn't have bought this DVD had I know the level of expertise needed. I reiterate my beginning statement this is not for the beginner. Give it a go - It's great! Changelling and Fun (1/1 people found this helpful)I bought this DVD with the open minded view that most fitness DVDs released are utter nonsense, too easy and obviusly made very quickly. I was pleasently suprised by this DVD. There is a warm up, five routines (play with or without step instructions) and a cool down. It is a challenging dvd which really gets your heart going. It's perfect if you want a challenge and don't want a video you can do once and feel you have finished it. I tend to do the warm up two routines then a cool down so I feel then by alternation the two routines that I am getting a slghtly different work out each time. Great music all sung by original artists.I highly recommend this to anyone who wants an exercise video which will challenge them. Disapointingly difficult for beginners (1/1 people found this helpful)As someone who has previous beginners dance experience I figured this dvd would be a breeze for me, but boy was I wrong! I particularly found the Cha Cha section that Erin did difficult to follow and extremely fast. I realise that is the point but for beginners I think it's way off. Also, this isn't a workout dvd, it's a dance dvd and the two are very different. Karen and Erin are fine to watch, although Karen is far more at ease with her instructions... but at times you are literally given too much information and you don't get the impression that what you're doing is actually going to do anything other than work up a sweat. I would not recommend this dvd to an older person either as some of the moves would be far too hard. This dvd is aimed at Strictly fans with very little consideration given to the ability of the person who will most likely be buying it. If you want proper instruction and peace of mind I'd go for a Davina dvd instead! The most difficult exercise video in the world ever !! (3/3 people found this helpful)Like many others I bought this video with great expectations. May be ok for the under 25s, but not for me being somewhat older. Apart from the quite complicated and difficult moves, I felt I needed a room the size of a ballroom to complete all the manouvers, had I been able to achieve them in the first place.
