Not as good as the earlier books!! (0/0 people found this helpful)

I have read all of Chris Ryan's books to date and this is definitely the weakest and most tediously boring. I would recommend anyone thinking of giving this a read, to give it a miss!! I hope his future efforts come back up to scratch.

Utter Rubbish (0/0 people found this helpful)

I've only given it one star because it couldn't give it zero! The dullest, most predicable read with so many typos, inacuracies and repetitions. I do not know how any person could seriously give it 5 stars- they obviously can't read properly or are maybe just a little simple. Worst read for a very long time!

a really really really good book (0/0 people found this helpful)

Despite what other customers have said about this book, i really enjoyed it. I have previously enjoyed similar books by authers like Matthew Reily and Robert Muchamore. This book is fast paced and thorouly enjoyable. If you like army/ action books then this book is for you.

1/5 stars

Dreadfully written (1/1 people found this helpful)

It is difficult to convey just how badly this book is written. The plot is not the worst I have seen, although that is only average, but it is the juvenile writing style that really grates.

To give an example; every time the central character, Porter, drinks any kind of stimulant (coffee, alcohol etc.), he feels it "hitting his bloodstream". This phrase must be used at least 10 times in the first 100 pages. Also, there is no logic to the story throughout the novel. For example, they hijack a driver filling his car at a petrol station in order to steal the vehicle. This is suggested to take a matter of 30 seconds, and then we are informed that "the engine was still warm and started at the first turn of the key".

This is the first, and definitely the LAST Chris Ryan book that I shall waste my hard-earned cash on. It is nothing more than a third rate copy of Stephen Leather and is good for nothing more than recycling.
