Reader Reviews:How to Su Doku Without Getting Hurt (4/4 people found this helpful)Su Doku is a number puzzle originally developed in Japan. It consists of a 9x9 grid, divided into nine 3x3 sub-grids. Each row and column must contain the numbers 1 to 9, which means that no number can appear more than once. Furthermore, each 3x3 sub-grid must also contain all the digits from 1 to 9, which again means that no number can appear more than once. With each puzzle, some of the numbers are already in place - your job is to fill in the blanks. The number and positioning of the numbers given to you will determine how easy or difficult the puzzle is. There is - or, at least, there should be - only one solution, which can be solved by reasoning and elimination.
Loads Of Puzzles & Absolute Value For Money... :-) (4/4 people found this helpful)I wanted to try Su Doku and wanted to purchase a suitable book in which to give it a go. I had searched, ummm-ed and arrrgh-ed about it and finally purchased this book based on its reviews. It contains tons and tons of puzzles and to be honest, is quite addictive- it gets me away from my PC and is an opportunity to exercise the brain. I have worked my way through the 'Easy' part.
More puzzles than any other title (17/17 people found this helpful)This is the best value book i can find - with 240 puzzles plus. Don't be put off by the For Dummies title - this has puzzles split into easy, middle and hard - and like the reviewer above - hard, really meant that - fiendishly tricky in fact. Totally recommended - the best i've found by far. Hours of fun (10/10 people found this helpful)I'm new to sudoku and really liked this book Its very easy to understand -I particularly like the layout of the puzzles and how the book was set out. loadsapuzzles (16/17 people found this helpful)OK, I'll admit it, I'm getting addicited.... The great thing about this book is it just has SO many puzzles (240 in all). My initial concern that they might be a bit easy (you know, 'for dummies')disappeared as soon as I picked up my pen and started work. The easy ones were fine but my brain got seriously knotted when they got trickier. Definitely recommended.
