Disappointed (0/0 people found this helpful)

I must say I recently discovered Jane Green and have thoroughly enjoyed every single book -apart from this one! I just could not relate to the charavyes and found it all quite unrealistic to be honest! The two main characters Amber and Vicky were not normal people like expressed in all of Jane Greens other books - hopefully this was a minor blip and I continue reading her books !

Same old (0/0 people found this helpful)

I have read quite a few of Jane Green's books and loved them. However I found this one really hard to get in to, too cheesy and predictable and I didn't finish it. Not sure whether I'm getting too used to Jane Green's formula or whether I've just grown up a bit since I read her first novels, but this one just seemed so obvious.

Dull, dull, dull (0/0 people found this helpful)

Dire. This book was so boring and predictable and the writing sloppy. I used to really enjoy Ms Green's books, even though this genre isn't really my thing, but I couldn't wait to get to the end of this one. I don't think I'll be bothering with her new one unless I find it for sale really cheap in a charity shop!

I have tried two books by Jane Green, on recommendations from my friends, but both have been disappointing. No real story, insipid characters...

Fairly good (4/4 people found this helpful)

I bought this novel maily for the concept- the idea of a single british woman and and american housewife completely swapping lives sounded reather intriguing. On this front I have to say that I enjoyed this novel- it does stand out from others of its genre.

However, when actually reading the book I was dissapointed to find several mistakes throughout the text. This not only made it hard to read but also disheartened me from continuing. In this way the actual writing itself is not brilliant and yet there is some good detail and characters in there somewhere.

If you are looking for a good storyline then I would recommend you give it a go. It has some rather suprising twists and does prove rather addictive towards the end. If you can't stand grammatical or writing errors though I would leave this on the shelf and find something else more suitable.
