Do your research, Other Truss (2/9 people found this helpful)

As well as the ignorant swipe at sufferers from coeliac disease, there is in this book also a mendacious and spurious statement to the effect that increased computer use is "associated" with rises in diagnosed autism and Asperger Syndrome. Is she trying to imply that it "causes" these conditions? Utter rubbish, and dangerous rubbish at that, fuelling prejudice and misunderstanding of what are congenital developmental disorders which existed (even if not recognised for what they are) *long* before computers.

No marks, Lynne.

Dont think it Say it! (1/8 people found this helpful)

Having recently completed reading ' Talk to the Hand', it was a relief to discover someone else who has a true sense of observation about the society of the 21st century.I found Lynne's book very funny, but also very troublesome and brutally true. This book should be used as a comparison in the educational curriculum!!

Other highly recommended reads, again with a hilarity and honesty which keeps you mesmerised and continuously laughing out loud throughout have been, 'Shakespeare My Butt' by UK author John Donaghue,a true life tale of a much loved black labrador 'Barney', coupled with a truly remarkable quest and an intellectual account of the local history of the North East of England, and 'Marley and Me' which encompasses the life of golden retriever ' Marley' and the life of author John Grogan and his family.
