Reader Reviews:Great little book (0/0 people found this helpful)This book was very helpful.
Ideal for a learner who is completely new to the script (20/20 people found this helpful)As someone with a keen interest in languages and scripts, I had often struggled to learn the Arabic script. Previous explanation that I had come across before I purchased this excellent book had left me confused and overwhelmed, but this book concentrates the letters into groups, and allows the learner to gradually identify subtle differences between the characters, and move at a more sensible pace. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is having difficulty learning the Arabic script who is searching for a clearer explanation. Beginner's Arabic Script (5/11 people found this helpful)A good book to understand arabic script styles from the middle-east. Good start to understand the alphabet and the basics (25/26 people found this helpful)I usually learn best using my visual memory so when I learn a new language, I need to see it written. Of course, with Arabic, there is the problem of the alphabet. This books explains it very well and takes you through the 28 letters in manageable chunks, with exercises. Then it goes further by introducing the basics of the language itself. Very useful for a beginner. Nearly gave it 5 Stars - it's well worth buying. (23/23 people found this helpful)I have been learning Arabic in an evening class and the students have all found it hard to find the right books with relevant informtion for those with a Western/English background. We are also quite a fussy group. However, this book has been well received by everyone in my class and we all use it often finding good information and proper explanations. The only fault I find is that it should have longer and more detailed explanations for some of the concepts. Other than that - it's a good book that would really help those learning the language properly.
