Reader Reviews::) (0/0 people found this helpful)I love the book, it does give a good in sight into Ms Key's creative mind. The language is not really complex but the images and meaning behind it is and to write such complex emotions in few words is a talent as far as I am concerned.
Tears For Water (0/0 people found this helpful)I have just got this book, and I haven't been able to put it down since!! Not only does Miss. Keys write her thoughrs and feelings for the world to share, she also puts remarks next to them explaining why she wrote that poem, and what she was feeling to make her express her thoughts that way. This really helps you understand the meaning of what has been written. If you are a fan of her music (as y'all should be by now!!) then this is the book for you, if your not a fan....then I recommened becoming one!!!!!! Heartfelt and Inspiring (2/2 people found this helpful)Alicia Keys has written poems that are heartfelt and that everyone can relate to in some way because the situations the poems refer to are real life. Her words as shared within this collection of poems and lyrics will touch the heart of every reader. Tears for water - Tears to your eyes (7/7 people found this helpful)Oh my goodness. This is beautiful. Alicia Keys talents just don't stop. She really is a fantastic writer, of which her songs were clearly only a small part. I really enjoyed reading her poems. There're just so gorgeous and cherishable and really bring out a lot of emotion. Normally i'm not really one for poetry, but this is different. Its also great fun to sit and read the lyrics to her songs from her two albums, it really puts them into new perspectives. I sat for hours just reading it all again and again. A beautiful collection of poems that you just have to read. I'm so glad i got it, as i really did hesitate, but Alicia Keys never disappoints does she. Its worth gettting just to understand why its called Tears for Water. Its such a beautiful analogy.
