More than just a guidebook (3/3 people found this helpful)
These DK guides may not tell you where the cheapest beer in Chaing Mai can be found, or where to find the wackier entertainments (try Footprint guides, which seem to pretty much on the money for Real stuff) but they are absolutely gorgeous, and as a result do make superb souvenirs. They're deceptively informative, and generally pretty accurate, too.

This being the first holiday without prebooking accommodation or planing our route was somewhat nerve racking. However eyewitness was superb, good accurate description of accommodation, sites, prices and even maps. It was the most read book on holiday and helped us to see the most of this beautiful country.
