Reader Reviews:A good book for beginners (11/12 people found this helpful)The book contains flash cards printed on both sides that can be torn out and used to help the reader practice their recognition of the arabic script. A good start to reading Arabic . Great for Vocab (12/12 people found this helpful)I found this book really helpful as a vocabulary reference, but don't buy it if you are looking for anything more. There is a good description of the way the arabic alphabet works, but beyond that it is restricted to essentially a vocab list with some fun exercises to help you learn. It is definatly not a text book but works pretty well in conjungtion with a beginner's arabic course. Fantastic for beginners (20/21 people found this helpful)It is a great book for beginners in arabic, with helpful flash cards at the end for quick revision. The exercises are simple and although look quite childish are suitable for all ages, and you'll find that you can start to recognise fairly quickly. A must for beginners in arabic! Just starting but.... (41/44 people found this helpful)Already my arabic friends are amazed that I'm picking it up so quickly and even I am amazed that the script is looking familiar already!! I bought this book as I wait to start evening classes and I feel pretty good about the whole thing now, after signing up I was worried I had made a mistake in choosing arabic, but this book and activities have boosted me no end! If you are going to learn Arabic this is a good, inexpensive book you'll use again and again, and if not the book at least the ideas and activities can easily be adapted. Excellent vocabulary builder for beginners (31/32 people found this helpful)Theis book includes games, quizzes and activities. The flash-card vocabulary sets and cartoon-style presentation will appeal to less academic students and younger people, but the book also contains a useful summary of the Arabic alphabet and an introduction to writing Arabic script. The exercises include English, phonetic and Arabic script for all of the words covered. I have been studying Arabic in a formal class for 12 months and still refer to this core vocabulary.
