Really enjoyed it! (0/0 people found this helpful)

I really enjoyed this book. I get quiet emotional, and shed a tear during this novel! I read it in a day, it was just a page turner for me! Another great book!

Typical James Patterson (0/0 people found this helpful)

There is something about James Patterson that infuriates me in recent years and this book is the perfect example. Whilst I don't agree with the current fashion which is to bash the author and utterly pan his books. I do agree that his earlier work (Cross early not his very first books) was superior. Having said that whenever I am reading or have read his books I do want to be critical: the happy characters seem to be sickly happy where everything is like having an picnic in a meadow in the glorious sun; The killers all seem to be generic - I wish JP would not reveal the inner dialogue of the killer in some of his books; the writing seems to be getting more and more basic and the books shorter but more expensive. Nevertheless the simple fact of the matter is that the stories are gripping and you want to finish them. The short, punchy chapters work. For that reason alone I can not give him one star ratings ever.

The 5th Horseman typifies all of the above but their is no denying that it is an intriguing and enjoyable story. The ending however seems a bit odd. Not sure what was achieved by inserting a twist and resolving it in a matter of lines other than to leave the reader feeling cheated.

very poor quality, his first books were great, now they are just rubbish.
I will not be buying anymore written by him and his co writers..

Insult to Intelligence (1/1 people found this helpful)

This has got to be one of the worst books ever.

*Spoiler Alert*

In this book you have a doctor threaten to kill somebody with a syringe loaded with insulin as if insulin can kill you in seconds to minutes.

It is like a cottage industry- producing books under a popular author's name written by somebody else. Even Robert Ludlum who had died a couple of years ago has a new book out. This sort of blatant commercialisation is only going to destroy the author's reputation and feels like cheating.
Unless ofcourse the whole idea is to make a quick buck.

You won't want to put it down! (1/2 people found this helpful)

This book is so fast paced and gripping it'l keep you up all night! Although it is the fifth in a series you don't have to read the others to enjoy it and with the fast paced writing and short chapters its like one long adrenaline rush!
There are lots of interesting characters and stories woven into the main plot to add depth and drama to the book. I highly recomend it to anyone who likes crime novels or fast paced books- you won't be disapionted!
