I am a late arrival to the Avengers party ongoing since 1961. The much maligned (unfairly in my opinion) film was my introduction to the avengers world of derring-do, umbrellas, champagne and style. This book contains the dream reunion of John Steed, Emma Peel, Tara King, Cathy Gale and David Keel. There is also the return of the Avengers ultimate nemesis... you know who I mean. The book itself is well written, easy to read and captures the spirit, style and exuberance of the original series. The book also tries to give some depth to the Emma/Steed will they/won't they relationship while bringing Emma back into the fold and not ignoring Tara's feelings for Steed in the process. Enormous fun Read, enjoy then go and get some DVD's of the series and film. You won't be sorry
