Reader Reviews:A fun and interesting approach to names. (1/1 people found this helpful)What is great about this book is that it does what no other name book does. It lists the 'style' of the name (for example: Antique Charm, Fanciful, Biblical)and also gives a suggestion of similar 'sibling' names, five for each gender. The author also gives her opinion on the style and feel of the name which are often witty and insightful.
Interesting, but if you're in the UK, this should be used... (3/3 people found this helpful)WITH another book. The sibling suggestions are a fun idea, and probably the best thing about this book. LW gives her opinion on the style of the name rather than telling you what they mean! I disagreed with her categorisations a few times. This is a personal gripe, but she lists Annabel as a variant of Annabelle! When any English person would consider it the other way 'round! She also gives the rank in USA, which is sometimes similar to the UK, but sometimes wildly different too, so don't rely on it. Worth ording if you are like me and a total name geek though!
