And here we go! (0/0 people found this helpful)

When I read this book, I was utterly amazed. Lemony Snicket's story telling is brilliant. He knows how to really get you involved in the story. With great description, and even greater characters, you would have to be crazy not to read the entire collection.

I am currently on book three, and I am excited to see what happens next.

Very good, but very sad. (1/2 people found this helpful)

(This review is written by Sian Prest age:10).This book is really exciting and you're always eager to find out what is going to happen next.I couldn't put this book down once i'd started it and i must say i'm certainly not a bookworm!!I think this book is worth buying. This book is probably aimed at children aged 10-16.

Bad beginning was fantastic (0/1 people found this helpful)

In this short book alone, the three youngsters, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire, encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, and a disastrous fire. Also they come across a plot to steal their fortune, and cold porridge for breakfast. CAUTION! This book is full of bad luck and miseries so if you can not stand that then don't read this book. This book is only for the really brave 9 - 13 year olds who are very bold. If this description does not sound anything like you then do not read this book all about misfortune and not a drop of joy.

a series of unfortunate events (0/0 people found this helpful)

the books themselves had some really good ideas in them but i dont think that the author did them any favours, some pages dragged on for hours whilst others skipped past.
annoyingly only being 14 at the time i felt that i was too old for the story, as on every other page lemony snicket insisted on interupting the story to explain a word that he had just used. a found this annoying because although you just wanted to read on it made you feel stupid, having to have someone explaining stuff to you
