This is a brilliant book. It is scholarly but accessible, and it deals robustly with the various conspiracy theorists; these last will not be convinced, but then one suspects nothing would convince them upto and including a visit from the Archangel Gabriel himself. He's very fair and even-handed - unlike those he critiques.
