Reader Reviews:A must-read for everyone in a relationship (28/30 people found this helpful)This is one of the most intensely moving books I've read in a long time. It's about a woman who, dissatisfied with her humdrum marriage, decides the grass is greener on the other side of the fence and, although she fights it initially, allows herself to become involved for a short, passionate, time, with another man. It explores the different kinds of love we all experience at some point in our lives; the kind of love which is like a warm blanket on a cold night; the almost obsessional kind which overwhelms you with its intensity but that you know is impossible to last; the unconditional love which parents hold for their child. If you have ever experienced any of these emotions, it's worth reading. The key thing that I took away from this book, is that it could happen to normal people just like you or I. It's not a book for anyone with strong moralistic views about what is right and what is wrong in a relationship, but if you believe that people are human and therefore make mistakes and learn from them, and approach this book with an open mind, it will change your outlook on what a relationship really is - and will challenge your view on what you really need to be happy in a relationship. I won't spoil the ending for you, but some of you will go away thinking 'Phew, glad that's not me!' and others will go away thinking 'Phew, that could so easily have been me!' :) Enjoy!
