Reader Reviews:Carnivals are not carnivorous except in this one case (0/1 people found this helpful)The word "carnivorous," which appears in the title of this book, means "meat-eating," and once you have read such a bloodthirsty word, there is no reason to read any further. This carnivorous volume contains such a distressing story that consuming any of its contents would be far more stomach-turning than even the most imbalanced meal. To avoid causing discomfort, it would be best if I didn't mention any of the unnerving ingredients of this story, particularly a confusing map, an ambidextrous person, an unruly crowd, a wooden plank, and Chabo the Wolf Baby. The rating I would give, for this terrible story which began in the boot of the enemy, is 7/ 10. Letter from Violet, Klaus and Sunny to Lemony Snicket (0/0 people found this helpful)Dear Mr. Snicket,
Pretty good, though not his best (0/1 people found this helpful)Yeah,it is OK.But i have read all his books and don't think it's as good as the next book in the series, which is, for me, the best one.But it's pretty good.I really like Lemony's books and think they're fab. This one was a slight bit disappointing, but it wasn't his best.I rank it in his bottom three. But i still absolutely love his other books and he is definetely one of my favourite authors! brandons report (1/15 people found this helpful)very good book Carnivorous and hungry for more! (3/3 people found this helpful)The ninth book in the series is one of the funniest and is extremely interesting throughout, despite a slow build up. The Baudelaire orphans find themselves arriving at caligari carnival in the back of olaf's car this time. They disguise themselves as freaks for the freakshow in this carnival to find out what olafs really up to. It turns out Madame Lulu, a mysterious fortune teller, holds the answers to all the baudelaires question, but as their luck would have it, their are many obstacles along the way, incluing olaf and some hungry lions...
