Reader Reviews:More a guide to the monster than the region. (8/10 people found this helpful)We ordered this book because we had booked flights to Inverness and had never visited the region before. The chapters on Nessie herself were intriguing and very detailed. If this is the kind of thing you are looking for, you will not be let down. However, we were disappointed in the very short descriptions of the surrounding villages as we intended to explore these during our visit. In some cases the name of the village was followed by a listing of shops and cafes and there was no information at all on the history of the place. Another shortfall was the map of Inverness which we tried to use but without much luck. While in Inverness we had to invest in a proper guide book and a decent map.
