Reader Reviews:Good book (2/2 people found this helpful)This is the book that got me interested in Sudoku in the first
Another good collection of puzzles! (3/3 people found this helpful)This book, like the first, has over 130 puzzles in it, which are printed quite large (larger than those in the Times), and they get harder than the Times puzzles. At the start of the book there is a full description of the different methods used to solve Sudoku puzzles, which describe all of the main techniques required. One of these techniques - which he suggests, but is not 'required' as other suggest is bifurication - or trial and error. This is where a point is reached where no more options can be seen and so an intelligent guess needs to be made with one of the squares and then either the solution would be reached, or the guess would be proved incorrect, in which case it would be the other choice that would be required. However, this isn't the only technique that can be used to solve puzzles that reach this stage. There are other more difficult techniques which aren't described in the book, and all the puzzles can still be solved by logic alone.
