Having read many books from the era of conflict in the Balkans i came to realise that i had never read a book from the point of view of a Serbian civilian. There are so many books from Croat viewpoints and from Muslim viewpoints also, so to summarise this book i would say for me it is enlightening.
She eloquently explains her own experience of the NATO bombardment on Yugoslavia during the late 1990's - in the form of her own diary. The Serbs suffered not only from the bombings, but from propaganda by their own governments, ostracisation from the rest of Europe and the world, international press painting them in a bad manner etc. But they were victims also, which we often forget or don't believe.
This book is a good reminder of the fact that they suffered too. This is a must read for anyone with interest in the conflicts.
