Reader Reviews:another wonderful and inspiring book from clarissa (2/2 people found this helpful)having already read and being a proud owner of 'women who run with the wolves' i have a liking for clarissa's work.
A timeless piece beautifully crafted and full of wisdom. (9/9 people found this helpful)Written by a cantadora (keeper of the old stories) this little book is bursting with imagery which is elegantly interlocked with loss, survival and rebirth. Centered around a war ravaged Hungarian Uncle " a wise old crow, and 'almost saint' who made up the old people" in the author's childhood. The stories are told with wonderful simplicity reminicent of the fairy stories of long ago, full of deep feeling, humour and always a profound optimism, captivating in its honesty. A book to treasure and to pass on to our children to remind them of the "magisterial life force within all things".
