Editorial Review:

The Glass Lake is a sly, seductive and compulsively readable book, perfect for rainy afternoons and late nights in bed. In the tradition of her beloved novel Circle of Friends, Irish novelist Maeve Binchey offers a wonderful old-fashioned melodrama with a contemporary cast of compelling characters.

night owl (0/0 people found this helpful)

I have read most of Maeve Binchy's books, but this is by far the best, how refreshing to read a book, where you cannot imagine what the end will be. I loved it.
Would be a great hoiday read

Very good (0/0 people found this helpful)

Brilliant plot that surprised me in its originality. The characters were all well written and believable with no 'black or white' stereotypes. I was left gripped till the end to discover what happened, certainly a page turning read.

a gripping read (0/0 people found this helpful)

sleepy village life means life seems to be passing Helen McMahon by. Married with two children, it seems an idyl life. Untill, one day, Helen goes missing, oresumed drowned in the lake of Lough Glass. What happens next has repurcusions for her entire family, and has some great twists. Great characters, brilliant writing and a wonderful plot means you wont be able to put it down untill you reach the end.

UNPUTDOWNABLE BOOK (3/5 people found this helpful)

Having read some of Maeve Binchy's books in the past - not by buying them but by being given - I picked up this book for a holiday read. Once started I couldn't stop, you live the lives of the characters and can feel their joys and anxities. I will certainly be buying more from this in author in the future.
