A Harrowing account of human behaviour during the flooding of the Mississippi delta dring 2005. An excellent documentary style book, detailing the events that unfolded during one of the worst storms in recent history and the people involved in the catastrophe.

A profound and moving book about a terrible event. If you know New Orleans and the area you'll be saddened at the things that happened on streets you know. If you don't know the area, Brinkley gives you a comprehensive guide to the history of the remarkable city and her people. Katrina was a natural force but the days which followed were defining events in American history, and this is the defining book of that event.
