It can be ok as a generic introduction to the technology but it is too academic lacking practical insight.
Additionally it provides inaccurate performance results.

This is a well structured and understandable book on the structure and functionality of GPRS/EDGE networks. Especially interesting for network operators are the chapters on the applications over mobile radio networks and the performance results. The book is no collection of powerpoint slides, but can be read continuously from the beginning to the end.
