Reader Reviews:
is nessie real?? (1/1 people found this helpful)All Geoff's books are great, but this one is phenomenal. He uses all kinds of sources from over the centuries for his books, and his pictures are amazing too.
This one has the history of every sighting of the loch ness monster.
It also has the stories of all the eccentrics who have hunted for nessie over the years - some of them are absolutely hilarious. I particularly liked the group who planned to use their psychic powers to manifest monsters across the globe. Did it work? Only one way to find out...
The section on Aleister Crowley is fascinating too, a real insight into 'the wickedest man in the world' - his magical wars with his rivals (sending his demonic minions across the channel to attack their servants etc), the history of Boleskine and how he planned to use it to gain ultimate magical powers and sexual irrestibility, all the hauntings that have affected the house since - including all the led zep stuff and the haunted beds that found their way into some local hotels!
It's also got loads of local ghost stories in it (don't read it at night), witches, ufos, celtic myths, skulls and wierd museum exhibits and where to find them. It would make the best Christmas present for anyone who knows the area, like mysterious happenings, likes a good laugh (his books are hilarious) or is a nessie fan. Similar Products
