Editorial Review:Sophie Aldred reads Jacqueline Wilson's The Mum-Minder in this unabridged single cassette pack. "I'm Sadie and I'm nearly nine. Mum's a childminder, but she doesn't have to mind me. I can mind myself, easy-peasy." But when Sadie's mum goes down with flu Sadie finds herself spending her half-term holiday not only looking after her mum but helping to mind the babies too. There's three-year-old Gemma, two-year-old Vincent, baby Clive and Sadie's own baby sister, Sara. But, "us girls have got to stick together", so with Sadie's help all the mums take a turn. On Wednesday Gemma's mum takes them to her police station, on Thursday they go to an office and on Friday they go to Clive's mum's chocolate shop. This hilarious and heart-warming story first published in 1993 by the award-winning author of The Suitcase Kid and The Story of Tracy Beaker is sure to go down well with all 7-11 year olds and, as with all Jacqueline Wilson's stories, it is particularly good for enticing and entertaining the more reluctant reader. Running time is 55 minutes. --Tamsin Palmer Reader Reviews:An excellent book !!!! This wonderful funny, Heart warming Tale is sure to convince readers that surely Nobody can beat Jacqueline Wilson’s best selling books. Published in 1993 This book is really nice for kids up to 10. (1/4 people found this helpful)I think the Mum Minder is really important book for kids under 10. Or older than 10. It can tell them how important it is to help your mom. And it's also very funny, the way Jacqueline Wilson discribes the situation of happening when there's eveyone screaming and cring. I think this will give a lot of people a solution when they finish this book. Although it's very short and it can be quite childish for kids older than 10, it can still be very fun and nice to read. It'll be a good gift for girls under 10. The mum minder (3/5 people found this helpful)It was the best book I have ever read and it only took me two days. I would recommend it to anyone between the ages of 8-12- written by Nina age 9 Mum minder by Jacqueline Wilson (3/3 people found this helpful)The Mum-Minder is a brilliant novel for budding writers as it shows that good stories don't just have to be about really extravagant things. The Mum-Minder is about a nine year old called Sadie and her mum who is a child-minder. Her mum comes down with the flu, so Sadie tries to take over. Sadie is only nine so she can't look after her, so the parents that she childminds for decided to take it in turns to take them to their work. They end up going from offices to chocolate shops. It's a brilliant novel that eveyone should read. Similar ProductsCategoriesAmazon.co.uk places this book into the following categories:
