Reader Reviews:On 'The new Britain: Labour's plan' (0/0 people found this helpful)A fantastic collection of speeches by Harold Wilson on the Labour parties plans on gaining office in 1964. Insightful and interesting, Wilson sets out a critique of the poor quality and inefficiency of Tory government and the unmeritocratic system epitomised by the'old boy network'. Wilson then sets out his vision of the new Britain he wants to be forged in the 'white heat of this revoltion'. The speeches include overviews of Labour's manifesto and indepth analysis of specific policy areas such as employment and the economy. A charming little tome allowing access to the thinking of one of our greatest, if underestimated and forgotten, prime ministers. CategoriesAmazon.co.uk places this book into the following categories:
