Loved it! (0/0 people found this helpful)

The second book I have read by Jane Green and she is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors! This book was chick-lit at it's best. Funny and a very light read.

I loved Ellie and Trish but hated Lisa (probably because of what she did!). Who she was having an affair with was a total shock! The ending was exactly as I'd hoped!

Well worth a read (I also thought Second Chance was brilliant) x

Light and easy to read... (0/0 people found this helpful)

This is my first introduction to Jane Green, and it was as I expected. A lightweight, easy Chick-Lit, and not intellectually demanding - good to read in the bath or in bed.

True, Ellie is a moaning, change-your-mind-every-5-minutes and never-satisfied-wife, who is incredibly over-sensitive when it comes to her mother-in-law, while Dan is something of a wet blanket. But hey, doesn't it make a change from the usual perfect alpha-couple?

I can't say the characters were memorable, and 3 days later I've forgotten most of the plot - but it kept me occupied for the duration, and I will probably read more Jane Green in the future.

Just remember, Jane Green = Chick-Lit - not Chekov!!

I really enjoyed this (0/0 people found this helpful)

This is my first Jane Green book and I really loved it, I read it very quickly and am really looking forward to reading more of her books. I'm lucky and happy that my mother-in-law is not like that!!! :-)

another compelling read! (0/0 people found this helpful)

I have just read this book after recently discovering jane Green and Imust say I really enjoyed it - I could relate to the characters, and could understand what the characters were feeling! Im surprised at the reviews about this book as I really enjoyed it - my fave book is Jemima J but I already enjoyed mr Maybe and Spellbound! Would definitely recommend this book along with her others I have read!

Not her best Work (0/0 people found this helpful)

I've read Bookends which I really enjoyed, Second Chance which I liked well enough, and I started this--The Other Woman. I couldn't finish it. I read to page 100 and my discomfort with the characters just kept building. I couldn't go on. I know you're not supposed to like the mother, Linda, but by 100, I wasn't even that fond of Dan. The tone struck me as whiney--even though the narrator had things to be unhappy about. The story felt like it was building to a train wreck I just didn't want to see.

In the two other books by Green that I've read she introduces more interesting characters earlier in the book. This one just kept me waiting too long.

Ick.
