4/5 stars

Deep and meaning full stories! (1/1 people found this helpful)

I have read some of the stories in this book and I have to say 'wow'. I mean for example 'The Tax Gatherer' by Neil Gunn! I think it speaks for itself because the author succeeded in raising the significance of the story beyond the level of a minor specific incident to convey a more universally relevant meaning. From the non-payment of a dog lisence to the biblical story of Jesus' crucifixtion being the reason for 'Tinks' being shunned from everywhere! To find out what I mean I recommend you read this book! well Neil Gunn's story at least!
