Although it is recommended that this book is only for intermediate to advanced users I would have no hesitation in recommending it to a beginner.It has, in my own view, all the projects a beginner would wish to try out when opening photoshop4 for the first time, but wouldn't know where to begin and by using this book and the help option in elements4 will be quite able to take on more ambitious projects - and there's always forums if somebody gets really stuck.
So buy this book, not one that any beginner may outgrow in a couple months, and save yourselves a couple of Quid, Euros, Dollars or whatever.
It's friendly, simple and very well presented

Don't touch this book unless you are familiar with Adobe Elemets.
It's written in that folksy American style which I find totally irritating and it assumes that you understand all the jargon, and know the location of toolbars and icons etc,
The instructions are in the same vein and the photos in support just leave you wondering how on earth he got there.
For the complete beginner this book is no no and mine is in the bin!.

This is a brilliant book that you can just go in and out of. Suddenly you find yourself thinking 'Gosh thats a good idea, I must try it'
The projects are short, sweet and very well illistrated.

This book covers, in a step by step approach, the various photoshop elements processes in a clear and concise manner. In my opinion, Photoshop elements has a bewildering array of functions and this book helps you get the best out of the program and enhance your photographs with easy to follow examples.
The pictures used in the book are excellent in their own right.

This is an absolute must for anyone with a basic knowledge of Photoshop Elements.
It's written in a clear, concise,humourous, down to earth style and every step is explained thoroughly. From how to manage your organizer to editing in RAW format this book has it all.
The only problem is that you'll never want to leave your computer for trying out all the chapters!
It has fast become my photoediting bible, I'd be lost without it.
