Reader Reviews:Can we recognize love in all its forms? (0/0 people found this helpful)The Poet of Loch Ness is a mysteriously romantic journey into the mists of love, love in all its forms, and of memories preserved, for all the reasons we hold on to our past. Brian Jay Corrigan paints a rich, yet subtle recollection of Scotland, the Scotland of the heart. His characters are truly likable, and as complex. They are not simple folk, nor are their individual stories. They all come together on the Highlands as testament to the strength of love, but not without taking the reader on a journey of visualized beauty and just enough intrigue to keep going around the next bend of the road. Perdita is a woman many of us could relate to, from our present or our past. She loves deeply, and holds even more deeply the memory of a love thought to be only in the past. Perry, Perdita's husband, is the more complex and worthy of reflection. His acts of love at times seem obvious, yet often misinterpreted, even by the reader. So too are the acts of love of Breton Trent, Kira, Caitlin, and Meg; each character unique, vulnerable, strong and not easily pegged. This makes for delicious reading, as if you think you have identified a particular exotic spice in a newly sampled dish, only to be taken away by yet another taste. Wonderful...
