Reader Reviews:Concise, clear and easy to read book. (1/1 people found this helpful)I bought this book after being sick of not being able to get held of the library's copy. Thsi si a book that covers many aspects of economic developmetn, clearly and thoroughly. The further references are useful and appendices give useful information such as how exactly the HDI is calculated. I'm doind a economic growth course and this book has helped me understand and further the concepts we've gone through in lecturesand tutorials. It is very good for finding quotable quotes for essays from reputable resources. Really fabulous and clear book (1/1 people found this helpful)This is a very, very well written title. I'm doing a module in development economics, and I'd always go to this book to understand what we were discussing in the lecture. It's clear but also gives you the authors' opinions, too, for instance on Structural Adjustment and the World Bank. If you've tried and failed to steal this one from the library, then you might as well buy it - you won't regret it.
