Reader Reviews:Definitely worth reading of you're adopting from Russia (4/4 people found this helpful)If you're considering adopting from Russia you will find this book very useful. It does go through the Russian process meticulously. However, it feels like it's written for nervous Americans who've never travelled before and therefore you can feel as if you're being treated as a child. If you ignore that, there is a lot of very useful information in there. The book is also written by an American for Americans, and doesn't cover Europeans and the different requirements of each country within Europe. Where the book could be updated is the information on adoption from the different cities where you can adopt from within Russia. The city we're adopting from has little information on it, probably because the author didn't adopt from there himself. The author may find it useful to update this with more information about the different cities from people who have adopted from other places in Russia. Russia has also developed more since this book was written and many of the items he suggests you bring with you can be purchased at much lower cost in Russia, but it will depend on where you're adopting from.
