What a great follow up for River God, heroes, heroines, goodies, baddies and all the time dear old Taita is in the background. I could not put this book down, it really is a great read, a breathtaking adventure. Anyone who hasn't read this series, you really need to start with River God before you read this.

Slow start, but wait for it to really kick in. (0/0 people found this helpful)

I found this book extremely hard to read for the first 150 pages. It didn't hold my interest at all, I kept putting it down then start reading the next day to find it was still boring.
I would have given up on it if I had another book to read. I'm glad I kept on with it though. There are 700+ pages to the story and it takes a while to kick in.

I would have to say that it is a brilliant book that after 200 or so pages was pure adventure and fun.
I would recommend this book, just get through the slow start and you will love it.
At times it's so tense I could hardly breathe! Great fun.

Rip-roaring adventure ! (0/0 people found this helpful)

My favourate book of 2006 (and I read a lot) a great adult adventure, with a bit of everything in it. A sort of Da Vinci Code with Egyptian treasure. Read it !

I was really looking forward to this after River God and I was not disappointed. Excellent!! Roll on Warlock.

Excellent (2/2 people found this helpful)

This was the second novel I read by Wilbur Smith.I basically bought it because I loved Egyptian history.

It was an excellent story and I enjoyed it. Don't want to say anything about the story because I don't want to spoil it for you.

It was an enjoyable read and the story caught you right from the start, it takes you on a great journey.

Compulsive read. :-)
