The Sicilian's Christmas Bride (Harlequin Presents)

This is Sandra Marton at her best, weaving once again a compelling and uplifting story of Christmas Magic. The Sicilian Tycoon Dante Russo became rich and successful the hard way and does not let anyone forget that. Hardened by the mean streets of Sicily, Dante does not easily give his heart to anyone. He is into `love them and leave them'. Three years ago on the day Dante went over to Taylor Sommer's apartment (his girl friend of six months) to end their relationship, Dante found out that Taylor had disappeared leaving an empty apartment and a note addressed to him that read ` thanks for everything it has been fun'. Three years on Dante is still piqued and angry. He does the jilting not the other way round. Dante wanted answers. He enlisted a P.I. to track her down. Dante's P.I. tracked down Taylor to Shelby Vermont where she lives in a small house she inherited from her grand mother with a Sam Gardner. Dante wanted not only answers but revenge- now that he thinks that Taylor was not only two timing him but left him for this Sam Gardener.

It's been three years since Taylor Sommers left Dante to move to Vermont and make a new life for herself and her unborn child. Tally was a successful interior Designer in New York. Adjusting to life and setting up a new business in Shelby, Vermont was challenging enough and with a young child in tow it was twice as hard. She had long spent all her savings but her business was beginning to pick up, but to make a good living she needed to expand the business. Tally had no choice but to take a large home equity loan. Through the P.I., Dante knew about the loan and to wreak his vengeance on Tally, he bought over the bank that gave her the loan and demanded that she pay back the whole loan, not the monthly instalments, but the whole amount or he will foreclose on her property. This will surely render Tally and her daughter homeless. Dante couldn't careless, even after meeting Sam and discovering that she was Tally's daughter. Dante was hurting because he believed that Taylor cheated on him and `hell hath no fury like a Sicilian wronged'. As a child Christmas for Dante was just another day in the mean streets of Sicily. His attitude to Christmas had not changed much as a grown up. What did he care if Taylor and her daughter were made homeless at Christmas? However when a child accidentally bumped into him on the streets of New York carrying Christmas shopping, all Dante could think about was Sam -Tally's little girl and the Christmas that she will not have. Dante hatched a plan; he will find work for Tally in New York and get her back until he tires of her.

How these two very proud people get back together and how Dante discovered that Sam was his daughter is a very emotive and heart-warming tale made possible by the magic of Christmas. This is a beautiful story that will bring tears to your eyes.
