the big let down (2/3 people found this helpful)

you make it all the way to the end, the last puzzel, number 100, and you do it wrong and cant see why. take a look at the answers in the back, and oh no, the puzzle dosnt work. even in the answer there is the additional 7 that breaks the puzzle.
big let down to an otherwise challenging entertaingin and fun book

Another good collection of puzzles (6/6 people found this helpful)

For the purposes of this review I'll assume you already know how a Killer Su Doku puzzle differs from standard Su Doku. If you have already completed The Times Killer Su Doku Book 1 there will be no surprises here. Just more good puzzles. Personally, having gained experience with Book 1 I now find I usually complete the puzzles within the suggested times which range from 10 minutes to 100 minutes.

As a rule Killer Su Doku puzzles are difficult to get started on and easy to finish whereas normal Su Doku puzzles are easy to get started but difficult to finish. It is very rare to need advanced Su Doku techniques in a Killer Su Doku puzzle so if you find X-wing, Swordfish, etc a bit too esoteric you will probably prefer Killer Su Doku as every puzzle is solvable without having to resort to arcane techniques or trial and error.

The next level (4/6 people found this helpful)

Some might be put off by the difficulty of the later grids in this second anthology from The Times. If you pull your hair out whilst solving the harder Su Doku puzzles, Killer might just live up to its name. However, the simpler puzzles can be solved just as easy as regular Su Doku grids.

For those who have left a battleground of fallen fiendish Su Doku grids in their wake and are starting to fall out of love with the craze, Killer should be the very thing to reignite those dormant passions. Essentially a mix of Su Doku and Kakuro, as well as the 9x9 squares, each grid now has a number of 'cages' with a number in each. The sum of the numbers you place in any cage must match its host number. It sounds confusing but is easy to understand once you've got a grid in front of you. That isn't to say it's always easy to complete...
