Meehan's book allows you to enter, in both reading and information about sites, a long and rich continuum of Irish spiritual life. These come to life through stories gathered from those who have held them, the fairytales, the legends, the detailed descriptions of each site and its history, and the archeological information of various sites. She speaks about the energies of the various places, and importantly, how sites throughout the country and spread across thousands of years, are connected.
Arranged by province, and then by the sites within each province, the book is easy to reference, colour-coded and excellent for planning travel. The beautiful black and white photography brings individual sites to life. For anyone wanting to explore the rich Celtic and sacred history of Ireland and the Irish people, this book is one of the "musts" for your collection.
