Reader Reviews:A good, readable guide (2/2 people found this helpful)This is a nice handy first book for all aspiring short filmakers. Adelman makes this very readable and constantly backs up her arguments and advice with experience. I'd definetly reccommend it if you are new to the idea of filmaking. However, those who have read/own several books on the subject may have heard this all before. It's major weak point is that as this is an American book there are several references to filmaking in the American market which are irrelevant to a reader in the UK. This tends to happen in a lot of "How to make a film" books and can be quite frustrating. But since the book is snappy and straight forward it's not long before the subject changes to something more relevant. Worth a try.
